Finding What Grounds You
Art Prompt: Create an image that represents what keeps you grounded.
Materials: Permanent marker, mixed media paper
My Art Response
When I began drawing, I focused on slow, repetitive movement. The rhythm of the pen created a sense of calm, like the steadiness of breathing. I found that I naturally alternated between thick and thin lines, which seemed to mirror how some grounding tools are strong and structured, while others are more flexible and gentle. The process felt meditative, helping me reconnect to the simple things that bring stability, like routines, fresh air, and quiet moments of reflection. This piece became less about the final design and more about feeling present in each stroke.
