Art Prompt: Explore where you feel control in your life and where things feel disconnected or uncertain.
Materials: Glam Pop permanent markers, mixed media paper
My Art Response
I worked with permanent markers. There is something about that medium, the firmness of the line and the commitment it requires, that felt fitting for where I am in my life right now. It gave me a sense of control, even when everything else has felt a little scattered or stretched thin. I used bright colors and playful, animated shapes, and each one ended up representing an area of my life where I have been feeling a little disconnected or pulled in different directions. Seeing those shapes on the page made it easier to notice what has felt out of sync and what I have been trying to hold together.
Permanent marker can be bold and unforgiving, but also energizing. Working with it helped me stay present instead of getting lost in overthinking. It reminded me that clarity sometimes comes from letting things be what they are instead of trying to edit every detail. This simple piece helped me step back and look at my life with a little more honesty and a little more compassion. It was grounding to see those disconnected parts in bright color instead of criticism.
