ALLISON bise, ma, lac

Allison Bise is a Licensed Associate Counselor who works with young adults, adults, teens, children, and couples in South Jersey. She has a particular interest in supporting clients navigating anxiety, low mood, identity, relationships, communication difficulties, and major life transitions. Allison also has training in grief, loss, and trauma and incorporates holistic practices such as mindfulness, yoga, and meditation when they are appropriate for the client.

Allison particularly enjoys working with people who find themselves in an in-between stage of life. You may know that something is changing without knowing exactly what comes next. You may be questioning who you are outside of a relationship, career, family role, or version of yourself that no longer feels like it fits.

Her approach gives clients room to explore those questions without feeling pressured to immediately have an answer. Therapy may involve understanding patterns in relationships, strengthening communication, developing confidence, learning how to tolerate uncertainty, or becoming more intentional about the direction you want your life to take.

Allison's interest in holistic wellness also shapes the way she thinks about mental health. When appropriate, she may incorporate mindfulness, meditation, movement, or other mind-body practices alongside traditional counseling. These tools are offered as options rather than expectations and are adapted to each client's interests and comfort level.

In her work with grief and loss, Allison recognizes that loss can change more than how someone feels in the moment. It can affect relationships, identity, family dynamics, expectations for the future, and the way someone understands themselves. Therapy creates space to process those changes without placing a timeline on what grief is supposed to look like.

Allison values an authentic therapeutic relationship and wants clients to feel that they can bring uncertainty, difficult emotions, and unfinished thoughts into the room without needing to have everything figured out first.
