Leann Goehring is a Licensed Associate Counselor who provides therapy for children, teens, adults, and families in South Jersey. She works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, behavioral concerns, family conflict, substance use concerns, and difficulties with communication and emotional regulation. Leann also has experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and a professional background in crisis counseling.

Leann knows that therapy, especially for children and teenagers, needs to feel engaging enough for a client to actually want to participate. She incorporates art, crafts, games, play, and other interactive activities when appropriate, giving younger clients different ways to communicate and build skills without expecting every session to revolve around direct conversation.

Her background in crisis counseling, crisis prevention, case management, group facilitation, behavior analysis, and direct care has shaped her ability to remain grounded when clients or families are dealing with difficult behaviors or intense emotions. She works with clients to better understand what may be driving a behavior rather than focusing only on stopping the behavior itself.

With children and teens, Leann may work on emotional regulation, confidence, social skills, communication, coping strategies, family relationships, and learning how to express needs more effectively. Her work with families can also help parents better understand what their child is communicating through their behavior and identify ways to create more consistency at home.

Leann also offers Christian counseling for clients and families who would like faith to be incorporated into therapy. This is always based on the client's preferences and can be integrated alongside individualized mental health treatment.

Leann brings an approachable and interactive style to therapy and wants clients to feel that counseling is somewhere they can show up as themselves rather than somewhere they have to know exactly what to say.
