About Hidden Gems + Reeds Farm

My name is Candace Menno and I am the creator of “The Hidden Gems of South Jersey”. A local blog that will be posted weekly about different things that are happening within South Jersey, including some of the best things to do, and the best places to eat. South Jersey often gets hated on by many, but there are handfuls of hidden gems that makes this the PLACE TO BE.

I was born and raised in South Jersey, and my family was one of many traditions. The things we did as kids are still some of the places we return to now as adults. We live very close to other states that offer a variety of activities, but there may be more around your corner than you might even realize. There are some food spots and activities in the area that possess value and beauty that is not always immediately apparent and therefore have received less recognition than they deserve. My job will be to find the spots, scour what they traditionally offer, and provide all of the info right here so that YOU get to become a part of them.

First on our line up - Reed’s Organic Farm

Reeds Organic Farm:

Reeds Farm Market has been around for decades. Growing up, this was the place where my family would get their Jersey tomatoes and corn. The new owners built this beautiful building that opened in 2022. There is an animal sanctuary on the property, community programming, and a regenerative organic farm. Inside there is always an ever-changing variety of fresh produce, grocery items, homemade soups, sandwiches, and “take home” items. They provide baskets at the front which act as your “cart” as you shop their market. Every weekend there are different vendors that set up for the weekend that make for a fun reason to pop in and grab something locally grown or handmade. Though many already know about Reeds, there is one thing that many do not know about. Their Wood Fired Pizza is one of the most recent endeavors made with farm fresh, locally sourced ingredients. They post on their instagram when they have their Pizza Popups. The pizzas are on a first come, first serve basis, and every bite envelops south jersey. When you step into their market you wouldn’t obviously be able to see that they have pizza nights, but if you follow along on their Instagram, you can receive all of the updates!

Reeds Farm also hosts a variety of different events including their Fall Fun Day. It is this upcoming Saturday October 21st from 9-3pm. Mindfully Active will have a table at the event providing face painting for the community 10-12pm. Some of our team will be there doing the face-painting, with marketing material available about themselves and our counseling practice. This event is the perfect excuse to do something in the “autumn spirit” with pumpkin decoration, face painting, their market, and Misty Meadows Sheep Dairy Farm with their baby animals. As a bonus, they will be having a Pizza Day! The pizza will be held from 11:30am-2pm or until supplies last. All pizzas are first come, first serve and must be ordered at the front register. Tickets for the event are here !

Fall Fun Day: 9-3, pumpkin decoration & face painting 10am-12noon. Pizza 11:30am-2pm.

Hours: Thursday-Sunday 9am-3pm
