BAREFOOT MARKET- The Barefoot Market is located on 214 West Avenue in Ocean City New Jersey. You have to follow along on their Instagram for special menu additions, and hours. They are known as the “scone zone”, and have some of the best handcrafted coffees in all of south jersey. They are “known for scones” and crafting La Colombe coffee. The scones begin their baking process daily at 3am. One thing that many will miss, because they sell out so quickly, are their croissants. The coffee shop itself is a hidden treasure considering it looks like a home from the outside, but the croissants found on the inside are the treasure. They are not your regular old croissant. These are baked with a variety of flavors and fruits in the center of them. There are chocolate, apricot, pear, apple, raspberry, strawberry, almond, and many more. Pictured here is a lavender oatmilk iced latte with a raspberry filled croissant. Some days they will make some savory croissants with a variety of cheeses, and vegetables. I have been able to try almost all of them, and there has not been a single one so far that I didn’t like.
The Barefoot Market has indoor, front porch, and side alleyway with picnic bench seating. All of the spots are adorable little tables and spaces that allow you to meet up with a friend, read a book, or do your homework. They are also open all year round which makes for a fun thing to do in the middle of the cooler months when you don’t have as much going on. Their baked goods are some of the best in the area and their croissants are truly a treat. This makes for the perfect spot to meet with the person for coffee that you’ve been trying to make plans with or a space to “finally be productive”.
