South Jersey Farmer’s Markets

Yes, it is still only February, but spring and summer is approaching swiftly and it will soon be Farmers Market season. As you plan for your summer, take a peak at some of the Farmer’s Markets in our area, and plan your stops now! For those who are struggling with the cold and limited sunlight, just take a look at these photos below of the fresh Jersey produce, there is hope. South Jersey is such a unique location because of our distance to the city, but closeness to the ocean. There are numerous locations that are vacation destinations for individuals living in other states and beyond. We are truly blessed to have some of the most beautiful towns within an hour of driving distance, and most of each of these towns has a Farmer’s Market! There are many more farmer’s markets in South Jersey than the 5-7 I will be highlighting below.

Many people will visit a town and not even know that these markets exist! There is the opportunity to meet local small business owners, shop for your fresh produce, and (if you’re really ahead of the game) Christmas shop.

Surf City LBI Farmers Market-Mondays 8am-12noon

Surf City Farmers Market is located on 713 Long Beach Blvd, Surf City, NJ, United States, 08008. There is parking in the street all around the market, and many different little shops within walking distance from the market. The market has an incredible selection of produce that is grown in New Jersey including, but not limited to, corn, tomatoes, berries, Jersey tomatoes, blueberries, watermelons, and so much more! The market has a variety of different vendors that hand craft and make an array of different things ranging from pottery, hand sewn bags, to artwork! Long Beach Island is the home to so much scenery, so if you make the drive to this market, it is worth making the day out of.

Sea Isle Farmers Market- Tuesdays 8am-12noon

Sea Isle Farmers Market is located in Excursion Park in Sea Isle New Jersey. There is the perfect amount of variety within the market for you to be able to try local iced coffee, baked good, Jersey fresh vegetables, and check out the local artists and crafters. The boardwalk is walking distance from the market which allows for you to walk the boards after gathering all of the goods!

Ocean City Farmers Market- Wednesdays 8am- 1pm

Ocean City Farmers Market is located between 5th and 6th on Asbury Avenue in ocean city New Jersey. This is a larger farmers market with parking at the Ocean City Tabernacle and spots in surrounding streets. The market is on Asbury Avenue which is Ocean City’s “Main Street”. The market is split in half with all of the food and produce vendors on the grass, and then all of the artists and makers are on the actual street of Asbury behind the Tabernacle. The food at this market is quite the variety including many small businesses, multiple farms selling produce, and my GO TO place for the best peaches I have ever eaten. This market runs from 8am-1pm.

Margate Farmers Market- Thursdays 8:30-11:30

Margate Farmers Market varies from the other markets within this article. Margate market is for the “foodies”. There are not crafters or artists, but an array of some of the best food and produce available in South Jersey. Farm tables are loaded with the region’s freshest, in-season fruits and vegetables, fresh roasted coffee, cheeses, seafood, spices, soaps, jelly, cut flowers, and potted gardens. This one is worth making it over to throughout your summer season.

Ventnor Farmers Market- Fridays

Ventnor Farmers Market is located on Newport and Atlantic Avenue. The parking lot at St. James Church brims with 60+ farmers, food vendors, and crafters who offer fresh, seasonal pickins’, delicious artisan foods, baked goods, beverages, and beautiful handmade goods. If you didn’t make it to any other market during the week or your planning to host in your home over the weekend, this is the perfect stop to grab all the yummy things!
