Santori’s Somers Point
Santori’s has been around for decades, and it’s one of South Jersey’s most loved produce spots. If you have ever driven in the Somers Point area, you have likely passed the Santoris. I remember going to Santoris weekly with my mom to pick up our weekly groceries. They’ve got your citrus, lettuces, vegetables, fruits, berries, breads, deli section, packaged items, and more! One of my favorite parts about going now are the hand written signs for all of the items. The store looks identical in the layout and “feel” since I was a kid being pushed around in a grocery cart.
Santoris has just about any fruit, vegetable, spice, or produce/deli market item that you could possibly need. Andre Santori opened the first Santori’s Fruit and Produce in Somers Point in 1990. He was joined by his brother John, and they opened a much larger location at 510 New Road in Somers Point and added a deli. A Vineland store opened in 2000 and there is now one located in Galloway Township at 325 E Jimmie Leeds Road. Therefore, whether you are headed to our therapy office for your own appointment or whomever you are dropping off in Ocean City or Galloway, you can head to Santori’s before or after session.
South Jersey is known for their fresh produce, from their Jersey tomatoes, to fresh berries, to the Jersey blueberry. “Homegrown” fruit is a hot commodity, and not something you find frequently during the winter. The HIDDEN GEM of Santori’s in Somers Point would be their chest that contains individual packages of “Jersey Blues”. Fresh Jersey Blues stands for the Jersey Blueberries. Hammonton is known as the Blueberry capital of the world, containing dozens of farms with you pick berries or farm stands selling fresh blueberries by the pint. There are not many places in the area where you can find fresh JERSEY berries frozen and packaged by the pound. I feel like these are a treasure because there are so many things you can do with Jersey frozen berries. Grabbing yourself a pack of these could mean fresh smoothies, homemade blueberry sauce to put over pancakes, or a Blueberry Crisp in the dead middle of January.
