Bakeria 1010
Bakeria 1010 is back and better than before. Bakeria 1010 closed their Linwood doors in February of 2023 while the owner pursued a different venture in Philadelphia. Mike Fitzick is the owner and crafter behind their unique pizza that is light and airy like focaccia, but crispy when a crust that is better than many in South Jersey. The gem within his pizza skills is the dough which is sourdough.
With Fitzick coming from Mack & Manco, he brings an entirely different feel to pizza. Instead of a huge tourist location with the goal of mass production, his shop and feel is more of a mom and popβs vibe.
I had never had Bakeria 1010 when its spot was Linwood NJ, but I got the chance to try their pizza the day after they opened, and it was phenomenal. The crust is some of the best I ever had before. You can taste the difference of sourdough in the first bite.
If you are on the island at all this summer, you have to give Bakeria 1010 a stop. It was some of the best pizza I have ever had!
