Historic Smithville During Christmas

Historic Smithville- The well loved, well known, not so hidden gem of New Jersey. Historic Smithville has been around for over 50 years with 50-60 different shops that host some of the sweetest goods in all of South Jersey. This is the place to land for any last minute gifting, with that “small business, special gift” kind of feel. The variety in the stores is what makes this place so special, because you could find something for anyone. It is a charming place any time of the year with cobblestone pathways, and every shop looking like a little home in a village. “It’s a village that seems frozen in time.” Another beautiful aspect of Smithville is the idea of being able to shop small and support small business owners. There is truly something here for everyone of any age. What makes this place the most magical, is the way that they decorate everything for Christmas.

The Smithville Holiday Light Show- The light show runs from Thursday, November 23- Saturday, January 6th. It is a line up well known Christmas songs with a Christmas tree light show! The trees are hand placed all over the lake, and light up according to the music. There are over 120 Christmas trees made with over 50,000 Christmas lights. There are a handful of people that place these all over the water, so they can float and bring Christmas cheer to many! The moment that it becomes dark, orchestrated music and lights are played out across the lake. The hours of the light show are every day from 5:30-8:30pm.

The hours of the shops shift during their Christmas season with extended hours that are listed on their website. There are many that desire to do something as a family for everyone to be in the Christmas spirit, but are not sure what to do. There is the limitations of different ages, attention spans, and family members that might be more difficult to get them to leave the house. Smithville provides a charming feel, that can bring joy to any one of any age, and bring families together for a night out during this Christmas season. The light show is even open on Christmas Eve Day, Sunday December 24th from 10am-3pm!
