Amber Glenn is a Licensed Social Worker who works with adolescents and adults at Mindfully Active Counseling & Art Therapy in South Jersey. She supports clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal and relationship concerns, substance use and recovery, workplace stress, and perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety concerns.
Amber takes a holistic, person-centered approach to therapy. She recognizes that mental health does not exist separately from the rest of someone's life. Relationships, work, family expectations, physical well-being, major transitions, past experiences, and the different roles we carry can all influence how we feel and function.
Her style is humanistic and individualized. Rather than approaching therapy as though the therapist has all of the answers, Amber works collaboratively with clients to better understand what they are experiencing, what may be contributing to it, and what changes actually make sense for their lives.
Amber's experience with substance use and recovery has also shaped her understanding of coping. Behaviors that create problems in someone's life often began as ways of managing something difficult. Therapy can create space to understand that relationship without reducing someone to a behavior or expecting change to happen simply because they know something is unhealthy.
She also works with women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and the emotional changes that can accompany becoming a parent. This may include anxiety, changes in identity, feeling overwhelmed, relationship stress, or struggling with the difference between what this stage of life was expected to feel like and what it actually feels like.
For clients dealing with work or relationship stress, Amber helps explore the larger patterns that may be contributing to burnout, difficulty setting boundaries, communication problems, or feeling responsible for everyone around them.
Amber wants clients to feel understood as a whole person rather than as a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. Her goal is to create a collaborative space where clients can better understand themselves, strengthen coping skills, and make changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
