Letting go
Art Prompt: Using watercolors, create an image that reflects something that has been challenging for you to let go of or accept.
Materials: Watercolor, watercolor paper, ink pens
My Art Response
For this prompt, I begin by using watercolor to paint loose, flowing lines across the page. I just allowed the colors to flow. Some lines overlapped, faded into one another, or stopped abruptly. I tried not to plan the path of the lines too carefully. I let the brush move freely. After the watercolor dried, I went in there and traced the lines with a black pen. This repetitious design made me sit through the feelings, identify them and place them into my image.
